Day 190

Psalms 98, 99, 100, 102, 104 (NIV)

Pamela Fontaine, Facilities Administrative Assistant

Joyce Myer said, “Turn your situation over to God because He can do more in a moment than you can do in a lifetime.” Amen!

HE listens. HE is there. You must reach out to HIM. I have, and I can tell you that HE calms me, He gives me presence. Throughout my years with my local business, I have met many hurting people (women), and I don’t think this is by accident. I truly believe people are put in your path of life at certain times. Sometimes it is because you need them and other times it is because they need you. I love listening to people. (Well, most of the time.) However, because of this, I tend to find myself in a position of “counseling.” All of us can counsel to a point, but I always know when it is time to pull the GOD card. I never hesitate to let people know that I LOVE and rely on God. Oh there have been times when I forgot that HE is there for me and I have tried to do things on my own. And when it is brought to my attention that I am not focusing on HIM and what HE wants, I quickly say “oh yeah” you are right.

In recent months, there have been some struggles within my own surroundings with my business and home. I gave my concerns to GOD–asked HIM to help me determine what needed to be done, if anything. HE gave me the answers both times. HE took care of what I was concerned about the way HE wanted to. One of those situations completely surprised me. But I have faith that it means there is something else coming that will also surprise me.

GOD wants you to talk with HIM, consult with HIM, ask HIM, rely on HIM. Maybe life is not going your way because you are trying to do it on our own. And maybe you are looking for your answer and not HIS.

Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.2     Worship the Lord with gladness;    come before him with joyful songs.3 Know that the Lord is God.    It is he who made us, and we are his;    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving    and his courts with praise;    give thanks to him and praise his name.5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;    his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Psalm 102
A prayer of an afflicted person who has grown weak and pours out a lament before the Lord.
1 Hear my prayer, Lord;    let my cry for help come to you.2 Do not hide your face from me    when I am in distress.Turn your ear to me;    when I call, answer me quickly.
Psalm 104
1 Praise the Lord, my soul.
Lord my God, you are very great;    you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

  1. Thanks Pamela,
3 verses stood out to me today.

    Psalm 100:3 (NLT)

Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture

    Psalm 104:1 (NLT)

Let all that I am praise the Lord.
O Lord my God, how great you are!
You are robed with honor and majesty.

    Psalm 104:33 (NLT)

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath!

Lord help me to forever stand behind these truths.

  2. When we have a huge problem to deal with, if we stop to praise God before we ask for help with the problem — the problem shrinks before the overwhelming resources of God.

  3. The Message re-phrases Psalm 100:4 like this:
Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Thank You prepares my thoughts for Your faithfulness. It causes me to reflect on Your power and ability. I remember that I am Yours and You have a FIERCE love for me. In the face of that, as Jerry said, my problem seems so easy for You to overcome or to use for good in light of Your power and love. In my deepest distress, never let me forget the “password”! Amen.

  4. Good Morning , dear daughter! Thanks for your very inspiring message!
I am so thankful that the Lord is in your life and plays a huge part these trying
days. Yes, our Lord, the Alpha and Omega, he has a plan all laid out, we just
need to seek Him and let Him do the planning.
    Love, your Mom
